博鳌亚洲论坛志愿者对世界英语的态度及多元文化意识  

The Attitude towards World Englishes among Volunteers of Bo'ao Forum for Asia

摘　　要：采用主观投射测试方法,考察大学生志愿者在2015年博鳌亚洲论坛会前对于世界英语变体的了解和态度。研究对象为16名来自海南师范大学英语专业的志愿者。研究涉及六种英语变体,所用刺激材料是持各变体口音的6位男性发音人朗读的同一段英文文字材料。研究对象在语义区分量表4个范畴为发音人打分:地位、亲和力、一般能力和运动能力。结果显示,研究对象对美国英语和印度英语辨识正确率最高;对美国英语和英国英语在所有4个范畴评价中都基本高于其他变体。数据分析显示:大学生博鳌论坛志愿者对多种英语变体了解有限,有一定文化定型和偏见。因此,针对博鳌亚洲论坛志愿者多种英语变体和多元文化意识教育有待加强。This research aims to investigate the development of world Englishes , attitudes towards them and awareness of multi -culture among the university volunteers of Bo ’ ao Forum for Asia .16 English majors from Hainan Normal University volunteered in the research .The result shows that those subjects know little a-bout world Englishes and display certain bias attitude towards those Englishes .Therefore , it is suggested to get teaching World Englishes into the training programs to those volunteers .
