展览作为呈现艺术史最新进展的方式——以展览《马奈与委拉斯凯兹:法国现代艺术中的西班牙趣味》为例(上)

摘　　要：展览《马奈与委拉斯凯兹:法国现代艺术中的西班牙趣味》从2003年3月4号至6月29日在纽约大都会博物馆举行。这次展览是由大都会艺术博物馆和法国国家博物馆联合会以及奥赛美术馆联合举办的。整个展览分为7个主题和9个展厅,将呈现来自西班牙、法国以及美国的油画、版画等共计206件作品。这次展览将记述由法国收藏家和博物馆所收藏的西班牙作品,尤其是1838年西班牙大画廊在卢浮宫开幕时的作品。以及法国艺术家开始欣赏和效仿西班牙黄金时代绘画的方式。这其中又以马奈为代表,他从学徒时期开始就模仿委拉斯凯兹的画作,直到他1865年真正去到西班牙,见到了委拉斯凯兹等西班牙艺术家的原作之后,这对他画作中的西班牙趣味产生了进一步影响。展览还加入了美国艺术家的作品,从中能看出他们对西班牙艺术的学习。Manet/ Velázquez： The French Taste for Spanish Painting was held from 4 April to 29 June, 2003 in The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Musée d’Orsay, and the Réunion des Musées Nationaux have collaborated on this exhibition. The entire exhibition is held under seven themes and in nine exhibition halls. 206 oils and prints from Spain, France and the United States are presented. This exhibition recorded the French collectors’ and the museums’ employment of the Spanish work collection techniques, especially the ones that facilitated the opening of The Galerie Espagnole at the Louvre Museum in 1838. The exhibition also recorded the French artists came to understand, appreciate and even emulate Spanish painting of the Golden Age. édouard Manet is an outstanding member among these artists. He had been emulating the paintings of Diego Velázquez since he was an apprentice. After he went to Spain in 1865, he saw the original works of Velazquez and further planted the Spanish elements in his works. The exhibition also includes the American artists’ works, from which we can have a glance of their learning on the Spanish arts. The exhibition utilizes the previous academic achievements and turns them into visual experiences. In addition, the exhibition provides opportunities for the experts specializing on this period of the art history to gather together, explore the paintings exhibited, and study the background of the art history. Besides, research papers dedicated by the curator and cooperating experts on this exhibition are added into the diverse catalogue published with this exhibition. All the work will provide further references on the study of this topic.
