《咭唎国译语》及其教育价值

摘　　要：《咭唎国译语》是中国教育史上迄今发现的一部最早的中国英语教材,成书于1750年前后,内容主要包括734个与日常生活交流密切相关的词汇,采用汉字标记英语读音的编制方法。《咭唎国译语》的出现,标志着前近代中国英语教育进入以书面语为载体的"有字书"学习时代,具有四个方面的教育价值:形成基于交际需要且贴近现实生活的教学内容;探索有效的汉字记音学习方法;奠定了前近代中国英语教材的编制体例和方法;培养了一批前近代时期的中国英语人才。Complied around 1750 s,English Dictionary with Chinese Translation is regarded as the earliest English textbook used in the history of English education in China. It comprises 734 English words and phrases related mainly to trade and commerce,with the sounds of which are transcripted in Chinese characters. The Coming into being of English Dictionary with Chinese Translation foretells the new era of the history of English education in China,during which the instruction of English mainly relied on written materials. The educational values of English Dictionary with Chinese Translation lie in that：First of all,the teaching contents are closely related to daily communication;Secondly,an English learning method is invented and adopted to help the learners to learn English more efficiently;Thirdly,it lays a foundation of the compilation of English textbook in China;and last but not the least,it facilitizes a number of English telants in the early history of English Education in modern China.
