摘 要:本文将翻译词汇提取研究置于双语词汇表征的理论背景下,并通过对语义相关词的实证调查来探讨我国英语学习者的双语词汇表征及其对汉英翻译词汇提取的认知影响。本研究通过对"表征-提取"两个变量相关效应的跨学科、跨水平的心理学实验获得了若干实证数据。在此基础上围绕与表征和提取密切相关的五个层面,归纳出以下重要发现及操作范式:1)双语词汇表征之结构有序、异同并存、质量不一;2)意象性效应之名词突显、动形滞后、影响趋弱;3)词频效应之异同并存、高低有别、负荷不一;4)提取率和准确率之频高质低、"入/出"并重、研练并举;5)词汇翻译提取表征效应之差异递增、抑制突显、"陈/程"失衡等。它们为今后的同类研究提供了更加广泛、多维的认知空间和实证方向。This article undertakes to explore empirically how lexico-semantic representation in memory and lexical selection in translation are correlated. To this end, two experiments have been designed and performed on 60 Chinese university undergraduates so as to measure the degree to which semantically-related word representation affects selection accuracy in C-E lexical translation. Five relevant issues are addressed, resulting in the following findings: 1) bilingual lexical representation is an ordered structure made up of both similarities and differences; 2) the effect of imageability shows itself unequally as regards different parts of speech: it is most strongly felt in nouns, less so in verbs and adjectives; 3) the effect of word frequency on lexical selection in translation varies, depending on the subjects' competence in semantically-related word representation and the frequency of the words concerned; 4) in terms of lexical selection and its accuracy rate, there shows a marked tendency on the part of the subjects to pick up high frequency words that results nonetheless in low rate of accuracy; to remedy such a tendency, equal importance should be attached to both input and output practice for students; 5) lexical representation tends to affect higher L2 learners' translation selection more than it does lower L2 learners while it tends to produce certain inhibitive or competitive effects on the subjects in general; in lexical representation an asymmetry also suggests itself between the subjects' productive and procedural ability in translation-related semantic selection.
