摘　　要：技术手册翻译对译者的研究能力有较高要求。本研究以机电业的技术手册翻译为例,探析译者需要具备何种研究能力和如何培养研究能力。通过考察技术手册的翻译难点,本研究尝试发现技术手册的翻译要求,并提出译者研究能力的培养手段。Translating technical manuals is demanding on translators＇ research capability. This study, with examples of translations of technical manuals on Mechatronics, investigates the kind （s） of research capabilities required of a translator and the way （s） to cultivate such capabilities. Based on analysis of difficulties in translating technical manuals, we discuss requirements for translating technical manuals, and then propose measures to cultivate translators＇ research capabilities.
