摘　　要：通过对"追赶式发展"方式由来、发展、本质的叙述,以"十二五"期间广东省高校科技主要指标为主体,与同期国内高等教育强省进行全面比较和深入分析,在肯定自身发展的同时,也指出跟其它教育强省,尤其是北京、上海、江苏的差距。提出选择追赶式发展作为广东高校"十三五"科技发展的模式,是由发展的使命、任务、目标所决定,同时提出了实施追赶式发展模式的对策。The author researches on the index of universities in Guangdong＇ s scientific and technological progress, by dis- cussing the origin, development and the essence of ＂catch - up ＂ model, comparing with and making analysis upon the a- chievements made by universities in some regions with strong education. The author finds out that the universities in Guang- dong have made tremendous progress in the term of science and technology since the ＂12th Five - year Plan＂, but there is still a gap between that of universities in Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu and etc. Therefore, the author believes that the ＂catch -up＂ model as the development model for universities＇ scientific and technological progress in Guangdong during the ＂13th Five - year Plan＂, is determined by the goal and task set up for this critical period.
