Study on the amount of nutrition contents in the powder of eucommia ulmoides leaves. Growth performance and the quality of carcass meat of dual hybrid between American Landrace and Large Yorkshire were determined on the condition that using the 3% and 4% of the powder of eucommia ulmoides leaves to replace the same amount of side production of the wheat in the daily diets. The results show that the percent of crude protein in the powder of eucommia ulmoides leaves is 10.46%, the percent of crude fat is 4.10%, two percents are higher than the corresponding percents in the average grain seeds. Vitamin C and riboflavin are rich in the powder of eucommia ulmoides leaves. 17 kinds of amino acids were isolated and extracted from the powder of eucommia ulmoides leaves, among them the amount of glutamic acid, aspartic acid and leucine are high. There is no improvement on the pig's daily gain when adding the 3% and 4% of the powder of eucommia ulmoides leaves to the daily diets, the group of 3% improve the slaughter rate and the meat quality significantly, such as increasing the eye muscle area significantly, reducing the water loss, improving muscle tenderness, increasing the dry matter and intramuscular fat content. The adding percent of the powder of eucommia ulmoides leaves 3%is better than 4% percent.
