摘　　要：随着宗教改革在英国的此起彼伏,繁荣了二三百年的英国中世纪宗教剧被当做天主教的产物受到抑制,于16世纪中后期逐渐走向消亡。宗教改革是宗教剧消亡的重要原因,但不是唯一原因。宗教剧的主要组织者——行会在16世纪初的解体、经济下滑、国家政治观念的形成以及文化与戏剧自身发展的新变化等也是宗教剧消亡的因素。拘泥于中世纪神学观念和传统艺术形式的宗教剧,在众多因素的影响下最终退出了历史舞台。With one Reformation in England after another, the English medieval religious dramas of three hundred years 5 prosperity was suppressed as a product of the Catholic Church in the late 16th century, gradually dying out. Religious reform is an important reason for the demise of the religious drama, but not the only reason. The disintegration of the guild as main organizer of religious drama, the economic downturn, the formation of the country 5 s political ideas and changes in the culture and drama itself are also the factors for the demise of the religious drama. Because of rigidly adhering to the medieval theology and conventional forms, the religious dramas eventually withdrew from the history stage under the influence of many factors. The demise of religious dramasshows that if a kind of art fails to keep pace with the times, it will be certainly eliminated.
