英汉委婉语跨文化交际失误及处理要点

摘　　要：英汉委婉语在语言自身、文化传统、社会环境等方面都体现出一定的差异性。在委婉语跨文化交际过程中,可能出现由构词手段不同而产生的交际失误、由观念不同而形成的交际理解障碍、由价值观不同而造成的交际失误、由词语动态演变引起的交际失误。因此在进行委婉语翻译时,译者要妥善处理好每一个细节,牢牢掌握语言知识,减少翻译错误,尽量完成精准的译文。English euphemism and Chinese euphemism differ a lot in language,culture and social environment.In the course of intercultural communication,there might exist different mistakes：Communication failures can be caused by different word formation system in English and Chinese,the different values between the two cultures as well as the dynamic development of words.Similarly,communication difficulty easily occur because of the different ways of thinking in the two languages.Therefore,the translator or interpreter need to pay close attention to every detail of the language and background information when euphemism is translated or interpreted,so as to reduce mistakes,and to provide precise translated texts.
