摘　　要：汤显祖毕生仕途不畅。49岁近"知天命"之年,主动辞官从文,告假返乡为"乡贤"。他追求"中隐"人生,自号"茧翁",思想获得了相对自由。文章从汤显祖晚年所撰诗文尺牍、"四梦"传奇、戏神庙碑记、唐传奇与"花间词"的点校品评着手,探识其步入晚年后的人文心态。Tang Xianzu＇ s official career was not smooth. When he was 49, the age to ＂know the destiny＂, he chose to resign from his official post and returned to hometown as ＂a country sage＂. He obtained relative freedom in mind by pursuing the free ＂half-hermit＂ life and calling himself ＂Mr. Cocoon＂. This paper explores the cultural psychology of Tang Xianzu in his later years by beginning from the proofreading and evaluation by Tang in his old age about poems, letters, stories of the ＂Four Dreams＂, tablet inscriptions, Tang Dynasty stories and ＂Huajian Ci＂ poems.
