摘 要:以信息处理加工理论和双重编码理论为基础,以某211高校非英语专业大二学生为研究对象,通过实验对比考察了基于多媒体技术的影视片段语境和词汇表两种学习方式在外语学习中对词汇意义记忆的影响和结果差异(包括短时记忆和长时记忆),并在对原始数据统计分析的基础上,探讨了产生这种差异的原因。词汇学习之后所进行的即时测试和延时测试显示:在短时记忆方面,两种词汇学习方式没有表现出显著性差异,但在长时记忆方面,两种词汇学习方式表现出显著性差异,影视片段语境比词汇表更有利于外语词汇意义的长时记忆。因此,影视片段语境更有助于外语词义信息的加工和组织,更能提高学习者学习的主动性,词汇意义长时记忆的效果更好。The study is based on some cognitive memory models, such as Information Processing Theory, Dual-coding Theory by Paivio. It investigated the effect of two modes of word presentation on re- tention of meanings of new words in vocabulary learning in a Chinese multimedia English learning context and the responses from Chinese students pertaining to the use of English audio-visual mate- rials. The two modes of word presentation examined consist of English audio-visual materials and iso- lated word list. It is hypothesized in the study that English audio-visual materials were more effective in fostering the learning of the meanings of new words, and it would produce a better effect on the long-term retention. The study employed a within-subject design with 30 participants being measured under two conditions: English audio-visual materials and word list. The results show that English audio-visual materials is more effective in learning unknown English words than that of word list.
