摘　　要：康奈尔大学图书馆在特藏发展中奉行"以用促藏,藏以致用"的发展思路。该馆特藏资源的发展历史与现状、特藏的建设方法、支持教学与科研的服务机制,在美国一流高校图书馆的特藏发展与实践中具有一定的代表性。康奈尔大学图书馆在特藏建设中具有面向学科发展的长远眼光、服务全球学者的开放思维、深度融入学校教学与科研的服务意识,可为我国高校图书馆特藏建设与服务提供启发与参考。Cornell University Library advocates the idea of ＂promoting collection by use and collection being for use＂ in the develop- ment of special collection. The development history and current situation of its special collection resources, special collection con- struction methods, service mechanism of supporting teaching and research have certain representativeness in the first-class university libraries in the USA. Cornell University Library has a long-term perspective for the development of subjects, open mind of providing service for global scholars, service consciousness of embedding into teaching and research in special collection construction,which can provide inspiration and reference for special collection construction of the university library in China.
