Objective To investigate the value of sympathetic skin response (SSR) and short latency somatosensory evoked potential (SLSEP) in early diagnosis of the patients with post‐stroke depression(PSD) .Methods The SSR and SLSEP were detected in 57 patients with PSD ,who had Hamilton depression rating scale (HAMD ) score 〉 18 points without peripheral neuropathy and mental sickness ,and were divided into two groups of A (HAMD score 〉24 points) and B(18 points〈HAMD score ≤ 24 points ) .Fifty healthy people were taken as the controls (group C ) .Results Compared to group C ,groups of A and B showed longer latency and lower amplitude of SSR (P〈0 .05) and longer latency of SLSEP(P〈0 .05) ,which were more in group A than those in group B(P〈0 .05) .Conclusion The abnormalities of SSR and SLSEP exist in the patients with PSD ,which are associated with the illness of depression and may be taken as the reference indexes in the diagnosis of PSD .
