摘　　要：美国清教主义是美国社会文化的重要基石,由17世纪北美清教徒文学形成的清教文学是美国文学传统的重要组成部分,从清教主义特殊氛围中孕育出来的早期美国文学从文体、题材、语言风格和创作技巧上有着迥异于欧洲其他民族的文学特色。American Puritanism is an important cornerstone of American society and culture,Puritan works in the 17 th and 18 th century are important part in American literature.Growing out of the special atmosphere of Puritanism,early American literature has different characteristics to other European literature in theme,language and writing style.
