New product development is an important source for corporates to gain competitive advantage. Social network is a kind of special resources, which can provide information and resources to help enterprises survive and develop, but the relationships between different types of social network and corporate's innovation performance remain to be discussed. In transforming economy or environments of imperfect market system, corporates often encounter illegal and unfair competition,so how to deal with dysfunctional competition is a current factor that corporates need to pay attention. Based on the data of 205 manufacturing enterprises, this study uses hierarchical regression model to analyze the relationship between social network and innovation performance. The results show that business ties and social ties have positive effects on new product development performance, and dysfunctional competition has a negative moderation on the relationship between social ties and new product development performance and has a positive moderation on the relationship between institutional ties and new product development performance.
