摘　　要：19世纪新加坡的华人秘密会党是比较特殊的民间组织,它呈现出人员男多女少、纪律严明性、互帮互助性、落后暴力与保密性等特点。这些角色特点是会党性质的表现,也在一定程度上导致了会党在生存之路上从事各种违法犯罪活动,破坏了华人社会秩序,最终被殖民政府取缔。In nineteenth century Singapore Chinese secret societies were special civil organizations with far fewer women than men,strict discipline,and the characteristics of mutual assistance,backwardness,violence and secrecy. These characteristics were the reflection of Chinese secret societies and would to a certain extent lead them to engage in a variety of illegal and criminal activities for the sake of survival and break the order of the Chinese communities,and as a result they were eventually banned by the colonial government.
