摘 要:中庸思想是儒家思想的精髓,其"中和"思想、至诚原则和"过犹不及"的方法论,对中国典籍外译具有积极的指导意义。"中和"思想指导译者在选择源语文本时应选取能够反映永恒人性的典籍作品;至诚原则为译者之价值取向追求,要求译者真诚对待源语文化和目的语文化;"过犹不及"要求译者灵活选择相应的翻译策略——归化或异化,使译文既不失去原文的神韵,又达到最佳的翻译效果。The doctrine of the mean is the quintessence of Confucianism, and the "neutralization" thought, the principle of sincerity and the methodology of "too much is as bad as too little" have positive guiding sig- nificance for translation of Chinese classics. The "neutralization" thought guides the translator to choose the source text which reflects perpetual human nature; the principle of sincerity is the value orientation of trans- lator, and the translator is required to treat both the source culture and target culture sincerely; "too much is as bad as too little'requires the translator to choose the appropriate translation strategy neatly - domesti- cation or foreignization, so that the translation will not lose the verve of the original texts, and the best possi- ble translation could be achieved.
