民族典籍英译焦点问题研究——以藏族《萨迦格言》英译为例

摘　　要：以藏族典籍《萨迦格言》英译历程为研究对象,提出民族典籍"经典翻译模式",即民族典籍翻译要体现汉族与少数民族思想的融合,突出民族文化意识,展现中国少数民族文明成果;提出翻译途径应以翻译对象及要表达的宗旨而定,照顾到各方面的需求;肯定了汉语转译在民族典籍外译中的作用,并给予理论上的说明;提倡借鉴,反对因袭。This paper focuses on the five English versions of Tibetan Elegant Sayings by SakyaPandit and pro-poses a classical translation paradigm for ethnic classics , namely, translators should reflect the integration of thoughts from the Han and the other ethnic minorities and highlight the national cultural and civilized con-sciousness in their minority ethnic classics translations. The paper proposes that translation approaches should be adopted according to differences in translation objects and purposes , with different needs considered. The paper theoretically approves that the Chinese language has played an important role in the translation of minor-ity ethnic classics. Finally, the paper advocates that translators should use the other versions as references in-stead of copying them.
