In Chinese academia, the Prohibition Movement which launched drastically after the A- merican Civil War has not been given enough attention. Furthermore, little studies have been done on solving the social crime issues in the process of American industrialization via enacting Prohibition Leg- islations. The American Congress passed the constitutional amendment to support Prohibition Legisla- tions which showed the historical importance of the Prohibition Movement and implied its research val- ue in some extent. Based on the ample materials of American scholars' research on the Prohibition movement in the past hundred years, this paper aims to interpret the importance of the Prohibition Movement in the process of solving the social crimes in the United States from 1880s to 1920s from the microscopic perspective of educational efforts in the Prohibition Movement. This paper focuses on how the prohibition organizations and other political parties carried out the Prohibition Movement and made the Prohibition Legislations enacted in America through their own educational efforts, and how impor- tant the role of education is in reducing and solving social crime in America.
