摘　　要：佘贻泽《中国土司制度》作为中国历史上对于土司制度以专著形式研究的肇始之作,在民族史和民族政治学研究中有着重要的地位和作用.佘贻泽以"学以资政"的特点,对土司制度中土司概念的界定、制度渊源、制度内容、制度评价,并对于时局之下的民族政策建议为后续的深入研究奠定了基础.As the first book to study the chieftain, Chieftian System in China by She Yize has an important position and function in the history about nationalities and in the academy of nationality＇s politics. With the feature of ＂Academics for governing＂, the author discusses the definition of chieftain, origin, content and comment. Then he gives the suggestions about the nationality policy at the time, which put a base for further study.
