Mycosis fungoides (MF),a kind of primary cutaneous T cell lymphoma (CTCL) with various manifestations, is easy to misdiagnose. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a group of small non-coding RNA molecules of about 22 nucleotides in length, and participate in many biological processes, such as cell differentiation, proliferation, metabolism and apoptosis. Dysfunction of miRNAs is involved in the development of neoplasms. Studies have shown that some miRNAs play important roles in the pathogenesis, auxiliary diagnosis and prediction of prognosis of MF, and have potential value in the treatment of MF. For example, miR-155, miR-22 and miR-150 can promote the development of MF, while miR-233 and miR-200c can inhibit it. A group of miRNAs, including miR-155, miR-203 and miR-205, are considered to be helpful in distinguishing CTCL from benign skin diseases.
