摘 要:琳达·哈琴对后现代主义进行的阐释和辩护貌似中立、辩证,其实在理论逻辑上有诸多悖谬之处。为了避开詹姆逊和伊格尔顿的文化批判,她对后现代主义做了精英式的界定,为其负面影响推卸责任;她还把后现代建筑作为理论模型,通过对现代主义的简单化处理达到抬高后现代主义的目的;至于哈琴极力推崇的后现代主义消解历史和主体性的"问题化"策略,更是问题重重:披着进行彻底的批判和质疑的外衣,无可避免地走向虚无主义和犬儒主义,从而丧失了进行任何有效的政治实践和政治变革的可能。Though she tried to be neutral and dialectical, there are many falsehoods in the interpretation of and defense for Postmodernism made by Linda Hutcheon. In order to avoid the acute cultural criticism form Fredric Jameson and Terry Eagleton, Hutcheon defines Postmodernism by the view of elitism to eliminate the negative impact. Taking Postmodernist architecture as theoretical model, Hutcheon boosts Postmodernism via simplifying modernism. The strategy of problematization, which attempts to cancel history and subjectivity, is even more problematic. Dressed in the cloak of thorough critique and doubt, Postmodernism will head for nihilism and cynicism inevitably, which renders it impossible to carry out effective political practice and political change.
