Objective To compare the clinical efficacy between tirofiban and aspirin combined with elopidogrel in treatment of progressive stroke and to evaluate their safety. Methods We selected 60 patients with acute stroke from July 2015 to October 2016, whose condition developed into progressive stroke within one week and neurological deficit scores were aggravated. 28 cases who initially received small dose of tirofihan and later received aspirin combined with clopidogrel were selected as study group, while other 32 cases merely treated with aspirin plus elopidogrel were selected as control group. Three and seven days after treat- ment, NIHSS scores, BI index, platelet count, coagulation indicators, bleeding and other complications were compared between two groups. Results Three days after treatment, the NIHSS scores of two groups showed significant difference(P 〈0.05), while BI index showed no difference(P〉0.05). Seven days after treatment, both NIHSS scores and BI index between two groups were sig- nificantly different(P〈0.05). Conclusion Small dose of triofiban has a promising effect on treating progressive stroke with good security, which can improve patients' prognosis.
