摘 要:本研究对高校非英语专业学生的文化自觉培养现状进行了初步的调查,并设计教师问卷,对结果进行了探索性因子分析以查找原因。结果显示,学生普遍对中西文化基础知识、跨文化交际基本常识掌握较好,也具有较高的中国文化英语表达学习热情;但中国文化英语表达能力较差,对中西文化的批判性认识有待加强。究其原因,虽然教师普遍具有较强的中国文化教学意识,但对中西文化的批判性思维意识尚需提高,其个人的中国文化英语表达水平存在进一步提升的必要,未来亟需加强对大学英语教材中中国文化相关英语表达内容的强化。The research has conducted a tentative investigation into the status quo of Chinese cultural awareness cultivation in foreign language education among college students. An exploratory factor analysis is also made of the answers to a self-designed question- naire, aiming to reveal the possible attribution causes of current situation from the teacher' s perspective. It is found that the majori- ty of the students have a good command of the basic knowledge of Chinese and Western cultures as well as cross-cultural communica- tion; meanwhile, they present great enthusiasm on C-E translation concerning Chinese culture in spite of their limited translation competence. The investigaton also indicates an urgent need for the enhancement of the critical thinking awareness among Chinese college students. Results of the exploratory factor analysis demonstrate that teachers have also exhibited poor critical thinking aware- ness though their desire to merge Chinese culture with college English teaching is strong; in addition, the teachers' C-E translation competence is yet to be improved. As a result, it is suggested that supplementation of Chinese culture materials in college English textbooks be necessary in the future.
