摘　　要：齐白石先生幼时在家放牛养鸡，鸡成了齐白石幼小心灵中再熟悉不过的家禽，因此，齐白石成为画家以后，对于画鸡，可说是情有独钟了。齐白石先生以绘画为职业以后，为了生活不得不考虑绘画市场的需求。因为鸡与“吉”谐音，寓意着吉祥，在绘画题材上鸡就博得彩头。再加上中国人特有的民俗文化符号，用于纪年的十二生肖中又有一个鸡，这样鸡题材的绘画又得到中国十二分之一人口的特别青睐。十二分之一人口这个庞大的数字，对于一个职业画家来说，是一个巨大的需求，迫使齐白石先生为鸡的题材而“拼搏”，也促使画家很早就熟练地掌握了雏鸡、雌鸡、雄鸡各种鸡的画法。Mr.Qi Baishi raised a cow and chicken in his childhood.A Chicken is the most familiar fowl in his mind.Besides the partial tone with 'Luck',it means propitious.In the theme of the painting or drawing,a Chicken gains the attention.Therefore,after Qi Baishi became an artist,he was fond of painting chicken.He was familiar with various painting techniques on the chickling,hen and rooster.Mr.Qi Baishi has been hunting for innovation and change in painting in all his life.He has been constantly studied the techniques on painting chickens.He is a diligent artist with high yield.A study estimates that Mr.Qi Baishi created 30-50 thousand pieces of paintings in all his life,the paintings on chicken shall not be less than one-twelfth.
