Objective To investigate the clinical effect of shoulder support in the treatment of hemiplegia after stroke. Methods From January 2014 to July 2016,86 cases of stroke patients in our department were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, each with 43 cases. The control group was treated with routine rehabilitation therapy, and the treatment group was treated with additional shoulder support. The number of cases of shoulder pain in two groups was compared and Brunnstrom method was used to evaluate the rehabilitation of limb function. Results There were 8 cases with shoulder pain and 35 cases were pain free in the treatment group, while the control group had 26 cases of shoulder pain and no shoulder pain in 17 ca- ~es. The treatment effect evaluated by Brunnstrom indicated that the treatment group was effective in 13 eases, markedly effective in 30eases, the control group was effective in 34 eases, markedly effective in 9 eases. The difference between the two groups was statis- tically significant ( P 〈 0. 05 ). Conclusion The treatment of stroke patients with shoulder support can effectively reduce the shoul- der pain of hemiplegia, promote the main and passive movement of the hemiplegic shoulder joint, help the recovery of upper limb fimetion, and promote the rehabilitation of stroke patients.
