Objective to explore the alteration of density after materials filled by ultrasonic equipment. Methods 40 newly extracted human molars were collected and cleaned completely. All of them were made furcal perforations in the center of the pulp chambers and randomly divided into four groups. In group A, perforations were filled by iRoot BP plus with ultrasonic equipment, while in group B, perforations were filled by iRoot.BP plus with traditional method. In group C, perforations were filled by MTA with ultrasonic equipment, and in group D, perforations were filled by MTA with traditional method. Before and after finishing the filling of perfora- tions, each sample was weighed. Then, 6 samples of each group were randomly chosen to finish the Micro - CT scanning and evaluate the percent of void. Results The difference of materials density in ultrasonic group and traditional group was not statistically significant (P 〉0.05), but the difference of void percent of the MTA and iRoot BP Plus materials in the two groups was statistically significant(P 〈0.05). Conclusion The density of repairing material filled by ultrasonic equipment is higher than the traditional method.
