摘　　要：主要从英语委婉语产生及其理解的认知心理方面进行研究,从认知心理角度阐述英语委婉语的效果,分析人们在现实语言交际活动中对委婉表达的理解,探究人类在其理解中的认知能力和推广能力。The English euphemism and understanding in terms of cognitive psychology were mainly researched in this paper. And from the perspective of cognitive psychology, the effect of English euphemism was elaborated. Furthermore, the understanding of euphemism in real communicative activities was analyzed. Finally, the human cognitive ability and the ability to promote in their understanding were explored.
