摘　　要：委婉语是人际关系的调和剂和润滑剂。在跨文化交际中正确使用委婉语能消除不同文化带来的文化休克,使二语学习者更深入地了解目的语国家的文化内涵和价值观念。利用语用学中的合作原则、礼貌原则、面子理论等探讨英、汉委婉语,同时提出跨文化交际中委婉语的使用策略,重点强调了语境和跨文化意识。Euphemism can work as moderator in communication. cultural shock in inter-cultural interaction, and facilitate second The proper use of euphemisms can minimize the language values. Cooperative Principle, Politeness Principle, and Face Principle suggestions were put forward regarding the use of context and cultivation learners in understanding its culture and were utilized to explain euphemism, and of inter-cultural awareness.
