摘　　要：专门用途英语是我国大学英语发展的新方向,其发展存在诸多问题,如需求分析、教材的编写原则、教材的评估标准和教学方法等。教材是整个教学活动不可缺少的材料,系统合理的教材更有利于教学目标的实现。文章主要探讨专门用途英语教材建设,积极探索新的任务形式,以期实现专门用途英语教学的本质——即以培养学生的语言运用能力为目标。English for Specific Purpose （short for ESP） is the new direction of college English. There are many problems in the process of ESP development like need analysis, compiling principles and evaluation criteria of textbooks and teaching methods. The textbook is an indispensable material in the whole teaching activity. If it is systematic and reasonable, teaching objectives will be much more easily achieved. The paper tries to explore the new tasks employed in the ESP textbook, in the hope of realizing the essence of ESP teaching cultivating students＇ language performance.
