科学家参与科普的“利其器”与“善其事”

摘　　要：当代科学技术与社会公众的关系正发生一些根本性的改变,科普工作面临一些新的挑战和机遇,科学家在不断提高科普的手段、技巧,即"利其器"之外,仍然需要认真反思今日科普如何"善其事"这一更加基本的问题,从而更好地保障科技进步服务于人类福祉这一根本目标。因此,科学家需要把科普真正当作科研的一部分,在大力推进公众理解科学的同时,也要促进科学家积极理解公众,并在寻求共识、对话协商的科普过程中,与公众一起共同推动科技与社会的繁荣进步。Science popularization in China now is facing new challenges especially with the funda- mental change of relationships between public and science. Except improving the methods and efficiency of science popularization which still belongs to the traditional part of ＂good tools＂, the scientist also need to think more reflectively about the perspective of ＂good ideas＂ to make science popu-larization better for both science development and public goodness in the long run. As a result, scientists first should take account of science popularization as an integrated part of their scientific research work, and try to understand public while to promote public understanding of science, then to realize the common bright future of both science and society on the basis of sincere dialogue and communication with public.
