英语委婉语的认知转喻探究

摘　　要：对英语委婉语和"认知转喻"进行界定,分析认知转喻机制下委婉语的生成,指出获得委婉效果有用整体替代部分和用部分替代整体这两种方式。从认知的角度对委婉语的生成机制进行分析,强调邻近性语言的运用和凸显性语言的运用。This paper defines English euphemisms and cognitive metonymy,analyzes the generation of euphemisms in the mechanism of cognitive metonymy,and points out that the euphemistic effect can be realized by both replacing the part with the whole and replacing the whole with the part. In addition,it analyzes the generative mechanism of euphemisms from the cognitive perspective as well as emphasizing the application of proximate and prominent languages.
