摘　　要：Officials of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention （CCDCP） recently told media that, globally, 2,000 families lose their children to death annually due to unintentional injuries, including suffocation, falls, poisoning, drowning, and/or being burned or scalded. Such unintentional injuries, the officials added, can disable and/ or disfigure children for life, and in extreme situations can kill the children. The economic costs to the children and their families can be high, as can be the costs of health- and social-care services.
