摘　　要：Ispeak to both my daughter and my son exclusively in English. When my daughter, Echo （如一 ）, was 18 monthsold. 1 experienced an interesting assumption from my mother-in-law about dual-language acquisition. Of course, it wasn＇t the only disconnect that we were struggling with at that time （As they say：婆媳关系不容易 A mother-in-law and daughter-in-law＇s relationship isn＇t easy!）, but it was probably the first of our conflicts that was resolved immediately!
