摘　　要：不同的文化之间具有不同的文化形态,这种文化形态反映到语言层面上,则表现为语言差异。而在语言的诸多要素中,词汇是最基本的要素。不同的社会背景和文化差异造成了词汇在文化内涵上的差异。在英汉两种语言中存在着许许多多与动物相关的词汇,同一动物词汇在英汉两种语言中具有相同或不同的文化内涵。Different cultures have different cultural patterns,these cultural patterns which were reflected in linguistic level,were shown as language differences.Among many elements in the language,the vocabulary is the most basic element.Different social backgrounds and cultural differences lead to the difference of cultural connotation of words.In English and Chinese,there are many animal-related vocabularies,the same animal words in English and Chinese languages have the same or different cultural connotations.
