摘  要:ESP(English for Specific Purposes)即专门用途英语,是一门相对于EGP(English for General Purpose)即公共英语的新兴学科。医学英语作为ESP在医学领域的分支,具有较强的针对性和实用性。然而,医学英语教学在我国起步较晚,教学效果大多不太理想。而语料库为医学英语教学提供了空前丰富的原始材料,有助于促进医学英语研究的深化和发展。本文力求以同义词辨析和术语选择为例,探讨基于语料库翻译教学的新的教学模式对医学英语翻译教学的作用和影响。ESP (English for Specific Purposes) teaching is a new branch of science in English teaching when comparing with EGP(English for General Purpose) teaching. Branched offthe ESP teaching,medical English teaching is more pertinent and practical in training the medical students.However,with its late start in China,ME teaching throughout the whole country has not achieved the equally significant teaching effects. In fact,the teaching efficacy of ME at medical colleges is far from being satisfactory. Meanwhile,the development of English corpus now provides vast professional language resources to guarantee the teaching quality,which is advantageous for the study and development of Medical English. In this paper,a corpus-based study of medical English is introduced to discuss how can corpus-based translation study improve the traditional medical English teaching and prompt the students teaching skill,especially in distinguishing collocation of synonyms and ensuring correctness in terms choice.
