Analysis of the Authors in the Journal of Ethnology Since it Began Publication

摘　　要：刊物作者群从一个方面反映出期刊的办刊质量和学术影响力以及社会认可度和社会地位。本文以《民族学刊》创刊七年来的发文数量为统计源,对作者群信息进行详细的分类统计,从所发文章的发文分布情况、著者单位区域分布情况、职称分布情况、学历结构分布情况、著者数量分布情况和海外著者发文数量及国别分布情况几个方面进行统计分析,让读者对该刊的著者群、办刊质量、学术影响力以及社会认可度有一个清晰的认识和了解。The quality of a journal is mainly reflected in the quality of the articles published in it,and the quality of an article is related to the author＇s scholarly achievements,attitude and writing skill. The quality also might have some relationship to the author＇s professional ranking and educational level. Indeed,it is not always true that the higher the authors＇ professional/educational levels,the higher the quality of the articles. However,it is the case that the proportion of published articles written by the authors with high professional/educational rank is relatively large. In this paper,the authors choose three journals,Social Sciences in China,Ethno-National Studies,and Journal of Hui Muslim Minority Studies to analyze the academic titles of the first authors. From the statistical results,we know that the quality of the journal does have a positive correlation with the rank of the authors＇ academic title and educational level.Therefore,it is meaningful to analyze the group of authors of a journal.Ⅰ. Research Methods and Objects In this paper,the authors adopt a quantitative method to analyze the statistical data of the authors and their articles published in Journal of Ethnology beginning with its first issue（ 2010-2016）. By the end of 2016,this journal had published 7 volumes,38 issues,and 503 articles with a total of760 authors. The authors give a detailed statistical analysis about the distribution of the numbers of writers,the distribution of the writers＇ units,the writers＇ academic titles,the structural distribution of the highly educated writers,the number of in-ternational writers and their nationalities,etc. In this way,the authors will obtain relevant data and information for reference.Ⅱ. Statistical Data and Analysis 1. The status of the quantity of articles By the end of 2016,the Journal of Ethnology had published 7 volumes,38 issues,and 503 articles in total.
