摘 要:《荀子》一书中的《性恶》篇太引人注目,任何关注中国古典人性论的人都会注意到它,而该书其他篇对人性的看法则一直被忽视。本书的《劝学》《礼论》《大略》等篇都不主张人性恶,而是主张人性朴。《性恶》是荀子后学的杂言杂语,汉代刘向在编《荀子》时把它夹在《子道》《法行》之间。"性者,本始材朴"的陈述典型地体现了荀子本人对人性的看法。以性恶论来理解荀子的教育思想会严重地误解它。在性朴论视野下,荀子的教育论则可得到恰当解读。事实上,国人在教育观上受性朴论影响更大。Evil Human Nature of Hsun-tzu is so striking that anyone who pays attention to the classical Chinese theory of human nature notices it,while the views of the rest sections of the book on human nature are always neglected,such as To Encourage Learning,On Rite and Da-Lve,which assert plain human nature instead of evil human nature. Evil Human Nature is a miscellany of the post study of Hsun-tzu,which was put between Principles of Being a Son and Implementation of Rites. The expression of"human nature is originally plain"most classically reflects Hsun-tzu's views on human nature,and the theory of evil human nature would cause serious misunderstanding of people understanding Hsun-tzu's educational views. In the perspective of plain human nature theory,the educational views of Hsun-tzu can be properly unscrambled. Moreover,Chinese are greatly affected by the theory of plain human nature in reality.
