广东高职院校专门用途英语(ESP)教学现状调查报告

摘　　要：专门用途英语(ESP)逐渐成为高职院校大学英语改革的方向。本研究通过现场访谈和发放网络调查问卷相结合的方式,对广东省八所不同层次和性质的高职院校的ESP教师和学生进行调查,结果显示目前广东各高职院校ESP课程开设数量少,课程设置与教学管理较松散,教学方法与模式有待改进,ESP师资水平亟待提高,高质量ESP教学材料缺乏。为促进本省ESP教学改革,文章从教学管理、教学方法与模式、师资及教材建设方面探索改革策略。ESP （English for specific purpose） has gradually become the direction of college English reform in higher vocational colleges. In this study, ESP teachers and students from eight higher vocational colleges of different levels in Guangdong province were investigated through on spot interviews and questionnaires distributed online. The results showed that the number of ESP courses in Guangdong province is small and teaching management is loose; teaching methods and modes need to be improved as well as the qualification of ESP teachers ; the lack of high quality ESP teaching materials is also a urgent issue. In order to promote the ESP teaching reform in Guangdong province, this paper explores the reform strategies from the aspects of teaching management, teaching methods and models, teachers＇qualifications and the construction of teaching materials.
