Objective To investigate the expression and significance of Bmi-1 in colorectal cancer. Methods A total of 51 patients with colorectal cancer were selected as the study group. 30 cases of colorectal mucosa samples were selected as the control group A. 30 cases of colorectal adenoma were enrolled as the control group B. The positive rate of Bmi-1 protein ex-pression was compared among the three groups. The positive rate of Bmi-1 protein expression in colorectal cancer patients with different stages and lymph node metastasis was analyzed. Results The positive rate of Bmi-1 protein expression in the study group was significantly higher than that in control group A and B (66. 67% vs 43. 33% , 66. 67% vs 40. 00% , both P 〈C0. 05). The positive rate of Bmi-1 protein expression in Dukes stage B was higher than Dukes stage C (86. 67% vs 61.90%, P〈0 . 05). The positive rate of Bmi-1 protein expression in lymph node metastasis was higher than that in non-lymph node metastasis (84. 21 % vs 53. 13%P〈0 . 05). Conclusion Bmi-1 protein abnormal expression can accurately reflect the formation and progress of individual colorectal cancer, which facilitates the clinician to accurately diagnose and develop areasonable treatment program.
