Objective To investigate the effect of salvianolic acids on the bilirubi level, hypersensitive c-reactive protein ( hs-CRP ) level and clinical outcomes of patients with acute cerebral infarction ( ACI ) . Method A total of eighty patients with ACI were randomly divided into two groups: treatment group and control group. Patients in treatment group were given salvianolic acids and those in control group were given conventional treatment. We observed the efficacy and the change of hs-CRP and bilirub in two groups, and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale ( NIHSS ) was used to evaluate neurological functional defect. Results After 14 day treatment, the levels of bilirubi, hs-CRP in treatment group was significantly decreased ( P=0.003 ) , and NIHSS score was significantly reduced ( P=0.000 ) ; comparing with control group, the level of salvianolate was significantly higher ( P=0.003 ), while NIHSS score was significantly lower ( P=0.000 ) . hs-CRP was negatively correlated with bilirubin. Conclusion Salvianolic acids can promote the recovery of neurologicalfunction in patients with acute cerebral infarction, which may be related to decreasing the resistance to antioxidants. It is worthy be recommended in clinical treatment.
