摘  要:1927年艾达·泽特林(Ida Zeitlin)的《格斯尔汗:西藏的传说》是《格萨尔》史诗早期重要英译本,文章通过分析该译本的起源、价值及翻译特色来解析史诗在早期英语世界中的面貌,分析了史诗书面传承的包容性及其与翻译的关系,以及史诗英译中存在的"译创"现象,并发现"译创"本的显著特点就是"去史诗化",而"去史诗化"对史诗外译具有重要意义,可为少数民族史诗的外译与传播提供借鉴。GESSAR-KHAN: A LEGEND OF TIBET( 1927) told by Ida Zeitlin is one of the most important early versions in English world. Based on the analysis of its origin,value,contents,structure and characteristics of translation,this paper endeavors to explore howthe English world interprets the great epic. It analyses the acceptance or interaction of different written versions of the epic as well as the relationship between acceptance of versions and translation. It also analyses the phenomenon of composition in translation with disepicization as its prominent feature,and holds that composition in translation and disepicization are of great significance in translating the epic G esar,which benefits the translation of the epics of minorities in China.
