摘　　要：本文以三峡大学物理学专业为基础,探讨了新形势下地方高校如何应对基础学科发展的困难,建议地方高校结合各专业特色进行发展,加强应用型和创新型人才培养,一方面服务于学校学科发展,另一方面服务于特色行业发展。In this letter, we focus on the difficulties in the development of the basic sciences, trying to find an efficient way out of their dilemma. Taking Physics of China Three Gorges University(CTGU) as an example, the authors propose to develop the basic sciences for the provincial universities with their own characteristics on new situation and to train applied talents and innovative talents, which would be useful for the local economic development and local industries.
