多模态功能文体学理论建构中的几个重要问题探讨

摘　　要：多模态文体学是符号学理论和文体学理论结合的产物,旨在研究语言模态和非语言模态在语篇意义建构中的作用,尤其关注模态协同的文体效应。作为一个新兴学科,多模态文体学孕育于语言模态文体研究的土壤,在理论根基上依赖语言学理论,因此在理论建构和应用方面均遇到诸多问题。本文首先对现有的多模态功能文体综合理论框架进行梳理和分析,然后对多模态文体的定义、多模态语篇的界定、多模态语法的建构以及语境对意义和模态选择的制约机制等理论问题展开讨论,旨在为深入探索多模态文体研究的理论范式和发展一个系统的多模态文体学理论提供参考。As a result of the combination of semiotics and stylistics,multimodal stylistics aims at exploring the foregrounded effects of both linguistic mode and non-linguistic modes in a text,especially the foregrounded effects produced by mode coordination. For the reason that multimodal stylistics is developed from the study of the stylistic effects of linguistic features in a text and the present multimodal stylistic theories are seriously dependent on linguistic theories,both the theoretical frameworks of multimodal stylistics and their applications are plagued by serious problems. To pave the way for the construction of a systematic multimodal stylistic theory,the present theoretical multimodal stylistic frameworks are critically reviewed and the basic theoretical problems,such as the definitions of style and multimodal text,the construction of different mode grammars,and the way context constrains the choice of modes are discussed in detail.
