Objective To investigate the clinical significance of Survivin and Bcl-2 in nasal cavity and paranasal squa- mous cell carcinoma (SNSCC). Methods 35 patients with SNSCC,35 patients with SNIP and 35 patients with inferior turbinate mucosa were enrolled. Survivin and Bcl-2 were detected in the 3 groups of patients. Results The expression of Survivin was lower in patients with higher stage of SNSCC, but the difference was not statistically significant ( P 〉 0.05 ). The higher the grade of SNSCC patients, the lower the expression of Bcl-2, the difference was statistically significant (P 〈 0.05) ; The expression of Sur- vivin in SNSCC patients and SNIP patients were significantly higher than that of patients with inferior turbinate mucosa (P 〈 0.05), but there was no significant difference between SNSCC and SNIP patients (P 〉 0.05). The expression of Bcl-2 in SNSCC patients was significantly higher than those of patients with SNIP and inferior turbinate mucosa ( P 〈 0.05 ). Conclusion The ex- pression of Survivin and Bcl-2 are closely related to the development and progression of SNSCC. It can be used as a target for gene therapy.
