摘　　要：伍尔夫的名篇《现代小说》的最初创作时间、复杂传播路径和创作背景一直没有引起国内外学者的足够重视。本文追溯《现代小说》在《泰晤士时报·文学副刊》上的刊登以及它在美国现代主义刊物《小评论》上的部分转载,分析这篇文章与《尤利西斯》的关联,阐述伍尔夫对乔伊斯创作意图的认可,探究她的文学审美观及对公众态度的反思,以重新认识这篇文章的独特文学价值。The original publication time of and the background for the writing of ＂Modern Fiction＂ by Virginia Woolf have not been adequately studied. This paper traces its publication in Literary Supplement of The Times and its republication in The Little Review, discussing Woolf＇s recognition of Joyce＇s artistic intention, her literary aesthetics and reflection on the public＇s roar against Ulysses, so as to further reveal the literary value of this essay.
