Normal intestinal microbiota is involved in many important physiological processes such as the nutrient metabolism, immune regulation and nervous system development. However, the change of genes and environmental factors can cause intestinal microecological imbalances, which can lead to a variety of physiological activity disorders including obesity development and related metabolic syndromes. The obesity patients have a higher risk of suffering from diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. In the past, the cognition of obesity mainly revolved around the mechanism of fat metabolism. However, the reversal of intestinal microbiota dysbiosis can effectively improve obesity and related metabolic diseases. Now, the mechanism of intestinal microbiota disorder affected obesity development is still not very clear. This article aims to review the research progress on the mechanism of intestinal microbiota disorder in obesity development, to provide a reference for obesity improvement.
