摘　　要：伊迪丝·华顿的鬼故事系列短篇小说具有"双声话语"的性质,即采用鬼故事这一为男权社会所接受的文学体裁表达华顿的女性主义思想。这一性质通过以"鬼"为主的意象群、缺席、不可靠的叙事者等书写策略得以体现。采用这些书写策略,华顿反映了女性表达自我和反抗压迫的心声,讽刺和抨击了丑恶、残酷的男权体制和文化。Edith Wharton utilizes ghost stories, a genre accepted in the patriarchal society, to cry out her feminist ideas. Therefore, the ghost stories are characterized by dual voice which is shown by the ghost-centered images, absence, unreli able narrator and other writing strategies. Employing those strategies, Wharton not only reflects women ’ s aspiration for expressing themselves and resisting oppression, but also satirizes and repudiates the wickedness and ruthlessnessof patri archal culture.
