Iron plays an important role in transporting and generating oxygen molecules in ment which has important influence on sports training. Athletes , particularly female athletes participating in endurancesport,ae at increased risk of compromised iron status due to heightened iron losses through menstruation and the iron lossafects the body, s endurance sports function. Conventionally oral iron supplementation is ment of iron deficiency. However, this approach has been criticized because of the side effectoxicity associated with the use of supplements. Thus, more recently there has been a growing interest in using dietary mod-ification rather than the use of supplements to improve iron status of athletes. These diet, heme iron diet, dietary counseling and new iron rich foods. Although there are few studies on dietary regulation, the literature suppors the view that iron levels in the diet can help maintain the iron status of female athletes, especially during intensive training and competition. Future studies should focus on ways to improve iron status more efficiently through diet-ary regulation , and whether these methods can have a favorable impact on exercise training.
