摘　　要：It is certain that a good application letter can help a job seeker win more interview chances than others. Therefore, it isnecessary for a job seeker to write a tact application letter, among which the language using is a very important aspect. This paperwill analyze the language characteristics in English application letters from the angle of tact maxim in politeness principle. Tactmaxim asks job seekers to write an application letter with correct format and decent language.
